Generator hire FAQs

Can a 6.5 kVA run my house?
Often for essentials only (fridge, lights, a few outlets). A changeover/transfer switch is recommended—ask your electrician.

What’s the difference between inverter and diesel?
Inverters are very quiet and electronics-safe (low THD). Diesel towables are heavier duty with longer run times and higher kVA.

How long will it run on one tank?
Depends on load and tank size. As a rough guide, many units deliver 8–24 hours at partial load. We’ll estimate for your job.

Is it weatherproof?
Yes—when correctly placed and covered. Keep leads and boards off wet ground and follow our setup notes.

Do you supply cables and boards?
Yes—10–30 m leads, 15A/32A/63A boards, ramps, and earth stake. Ask for a bundle price.

Single-phase vs three-phase—how do I choose?
Three-phase (400–415 V) is for bigger loads and balanced distribution. If you’re unsure, share your gear list.

Do I need an electrician?
For hard-wired changeovers or building distribution, yes. For stand-alone appliances via leads/boards, usually not.
